Experience Details

7 glass Champagne tastings by three different Champagne houses and Pressoria Museum visit in Small-group of 4 to up to 7 people by Mercedes. Day trip from Paris to the most beautiful sites of Champagne including Dom Perignon church in Hautvillers.

Mercier Guided Cellars visit with 3 glasses of Champagne tasting, 2 glasses of Champagne by Champagne le Gallais and guided visit, Pressoria Museum visit with 2 glasses of Champagne tasting. Visit the church in the medieval village Hautvillers where Dom Perignon was buried, and a short stop at Views point over the Champagne vineyards and Marne river.

07:30 Hotel pick up and Departure destination Champagne region. There are approx. 140 km to drive on a highway. One stop at a rest area will be made. The ride takes about 2 hours, and part of it goes along the picturesque Champagne landscapes and vineyards.

Champagne Le Gallais

10:00 - 11:15 visit the local medium family producer Champagne le Gallais on the top of the hills with beautiful panoramic views over vineyards. Guided visit of the Cellars and production section by a family member or one of their team. Explanations about the Champagne making process and tasting of 2 glasses with descriptions. 11:15 Departure to Epernay (10 km). It takes about 15 minutes.

Mercier

11:30 - 13:00. Arrival in Epernay. Visit Mercier Champagne house with a guided tour through the underground cellars and Champagne degustation of 2 glasses of Champagne. Mercier is Number 1 in the French market.

Epernay

13:00 - 14:30 Lunch break in Épernay. We can make a reservation for you or an excellent local restaurant. Épernay is known as the Champagne Capital of France. Located along the Marne river surrounded by the wine hills, it is home to many region’s most prestigious champagne houses. Épernay is a must for champagne lovers. Walk the Avenue of Champagne attracts many tourists. 14:30 Departure to the Pressoria Museum in Ay village. It takes just 10 minutes (4 km).

14:45 - 16:00 Visit of Pressoria Museum in Ay village telling us the History of the Champagne region and Champagne production with the Champagne degustation of 2 glasses of Champagnes. 16:00 Departure to Hautvillers. It takes about 10 minutes (6 km).

Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers

16:10 - 16:40 Visit the Abbey's Church of Sindulphe d'Hautvillers (Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers). It is a former Benedictine monastery. The Abbey was founded in 665 and remained active till the French Revolution of 1789. Dom Perignon has developed wine-making methods in the region of Champagne. Nowadays, there are 26 local Champagne producers in the village. 16:30 Stop at a viewpoint with the best Panoramic views over the vineyards and Marne river. 16:40 Departure Paris. It takes about 2,5 hours.
