Experience Details

A seasonal tea-picking adventure awaits! If you're visiting Kyoto between late April and early May, why not take part in this unique experience? Step into the role of a traditional tea harvester and enjoy picking fresh tea leaves at their peak.

After tea picking, we move on to an exclusive tasting session featuring seven types of Japanese tea, including matcha, paired with three exquisite fermented Washoku dishes.

Did you know tea can be paired just like wine or sake? High-quality Japanese teas boast distinct aromas and umami flavors that create a perfect harmony with Washoku cuisine. In this immersive class, you’ll gain deeper insights into Japanese tea through a short educational session, followed by a hands-on pairing with dishes made using additive-free, traditionally crafted fermented seasonings.

Upon arrival, wash your hands, put on your apron, and get ready to explore the world of Japanese tea. Start with a fun quiz to test your tea knowledge, then dive into an informative session using guides and cheat sheets to understand different tea varieties and their unique flavors.

The highlight of the experience is the pairing session. Enjoy three expertly crafted Washoku dishes paired with seven freshly brewed teas. Each tea has been carefully selected by a Washoku specialist, featuring top-quality varieties from Japan’s most famous tea regions.

Join us for an unforgettable tea experience, blending hands-on harvesting, cultural learning, and a delicious pairing session!
