we had a lovely tasting in a beautiful setting and the wines are quite nice. We took the Cheese platter which at 70AUD was a rather small portion for the price , but we understand that a lot of if is local produce. The cheeses were excellent. I would suggest having a snack before coming here for the wine tasting.
Wine tasting in the barrel hall was super cool. Experience was fantastic. Worth the visit and time spent there was amazing.
We stopped at Cape Mentelle to kill a bit of time before checking in to our accommodation. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a warm, friendly sommelier who escorted us to the barrel hall for a wine tasting. Customers are given an iPad to browse the wines available and read a detailed overview of them, before making a selection of 6 different tasters for $15 pp. We picked our 6 (all fantastic!) and the sommelier even threw in their flagship 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon to try as well. Danny was absolutely excellent and delivered an amazing experience - we aren’t used to these sorts of experiences where it is just the two of us and it was brilliant; Danny took his time to take us through the wines, showed us how to decipher some of the tastes and gave us a full explanation of Cape Mentelle. Thank you - this was a great part of our honeymoon trip!
Hi Nick, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that Danny provided an excellent experience and made your visit special. It's great to know that you enjoyed the personalized wine tasting and the detailed insights into our wines and Cape Mentelle. We're honored to have been a part of your honeymoon trip and hope to welcome you back in the future. Congratulations and best wishes on your new journey together!
4 of us had a private wine tasting which was very informative. The wines were the best that we tried out of 4 wineries we toured and sampled as was the knowledge of our hostess. After our tasting we shown around some of the vats and barrel storage area. Finished off with a glass of our favorite wine and cheese and nibbles platter. A lovely experience.
Dear Janet and Ian, It is always so rewarding for our cellar door team to receive such positive feedback! Our customer experience is of utmost importance and I am thrilled you all had a lovely time at Cape Mentelle. We look forward to welcoming you all again soon, Until then, Julie
