As long time San Franciscans, we thought we knew this city- but this tour gave us a whole new appreciation for it! The evening was the perfect mix of fascinating local history, entertaining spooky stories, and incredible food. Every stop offered something delicious, and there was more than enough to go around. This tour was so fun! I was excited to hear the ghost stories, as I feel they help make a neighborhood more memorable and stimulates my imagination. These stories did not disappoint, especially hearing about Shanghaiing practices in dark alleys. The Italian food on the tour was quite good and I’d definitely go back to try some more!

This free tour offered by San Francisco City Guides took me around a 2-squared- block area of North Beach. I learned about the Italian community and how it is reflected in its churches, eateries, and watering holes. Guide Audrey focused on some of the more popular businesses and on the history of the main locales. It's a good tour for visitors new to the area but I think local residents would enjoy it as well. This a great casual walking tour focusing on Italian cuisine with some local ghost stories added in. Dale was awesome and knows the area well. Definitely recommended!
