This tour was the ABSOLUTE BEST. Matthieu is beyond knowledgeable. My favorite part was how fun and interactive the tasting was. I learned so much. I LAUGHED so much (and this was before we even had any alcohol!). The wine was also lovely (truly I don’t even like wine, I just felt like we should do a tasting because we’re in Burgundy…but now I actually enjoy wine. Like I said, incredible experience).
Small, very pleasant vaulted cellar; Mathieu, an enthusiast, knew how to offer us a complete tasting while reminding us that it is about using our 5 senses to be able to appreciate wine. Very good quality of the wine tasted and its local accompaniments. Thank you The Vichyssois
Wine Compass was one of the highlights of our time in Dijon. The tasting was fun, highly informative, and exceptionally well done. Matthieu is charming, engaging, and remarkably knowledgeable, not only about Dijon and Burgundy but also about wines from Spain, Italy, and other regions around the world. He also has a great sense of humor, which kept the session lively and approachable even as we covered some fairly complex subjects. Matthieu was very cool! The wine tasting was in his little wine cellar, the ambiance was super. The event was funny and interesting and we tasted really good wines. I can only recommend!
Had a great time! The guide was very English friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had and wasn’t afraid to delve deeper into those topics. I learned a lot about the smells and taste of wine, along with the history and making of the wines in both France and Italy. Would easily recommend if you are in the area!
