After asking about his family and inquiring about cooking we learned about Merci’s cooking classes. What a blessing! We have been to many cooking classes around the world but this one was the Best! So unique, genuine, and fun! And so yummy! If you are in Sarajevo, please don’t miss out on this one!
Mersiha’s cooking class was truly the most special experience for us. She taught us to stretch paper-thin dough from scratch for authentic sirnica and krompiruša, followed by the most amazing flavors in her stuffed peppers, japrak, and slow-simmered sogan dolma. Bosnia has some of the most welcoming, creative people you will ever meet. If you’re ever in Sarajevo be sure to look them up and book a spot ahead of time—it is true Balkan hospitality.
I attend many cooking classes with my travel and tgis one is high on my list! An informative, practical and most importantly delicious food!!! Truly a wonderful way to spend your time and get to know local people. I am bringing my husband back next year!!! Book!!
The cooking class was a wonderful experience. Mersiha is a great cook and the best host one could imagine. We stumbled upon it by chance and it was the best decision for our visit to Sarajevo to book the course. We had lovely hours, learned great recipes, and heard insights into personal stories. Everything tasted wonderful! Thank you very much for the experience.
Mersiha was so kind and hospitable! She is a wonderful chef and teacher. She explained every step so clearly, and she’s very clearly skilled in what she does. The dolmas + burek we made were so delicious, and i definitely plan on making it again soon. The class is definitely beginner friendly, as Mersiha is there to save the day in case anything goes super wrong! I would definitely book with her again the next time I’m in Sarajevo! A bonus is that she has a great taste in wine + small bites :)
