I did this with my 8-year-old son, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything about it was great — the hands-on chocolate-making process, the tasting, the setting — but what really made it special was our instructor, Edgar. Edgar was genuinely warm and full of energy the entire time, and he had a wonderful way with kids. The guide was kind and extremely knowledgeable about chocolate production. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and explore the world of Oaxaca chocolate making. Though I originally hoped for a class with other people I ended having a private class as no one else had signed up for that date and time. I had a great time and the chocolate I made was delicious.

What a great experience learning to make chocolate and the culture around it. I love meeting locals that are so passionate about their country and the food they make. I can’t wait to get home and share my chocolates with my loved ones.
