I would highly recommend this excursion. York was a fabulous tour guide. He gave a wealth of information about Chinatown and the history of the Chinese migration to Chicago. Loved it!

+242 張照片This was a great way to see Chinatown and to try some amazing good. We had a great time and Lillian was a great guide. Thjs was the second food tour we had experienced through Bobby's Bike, Like, & Food Tours. Both of which were amazing experiences.

Food was delicious, and unique. Met some wonderful fellow travelers. Our guide, Alex, was fun, knowledgeable, had plenty of stories to tell, and managed a comfortable pace. I'd highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for joining us and for sharing such a wonderful recommendation! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the delicious and unique flavors, the chance to connect with fellow travelers, and especially Alex’s stories and knowledge of the neighborhood. A comfortable pace, great company, and memorable food are exactly what we hope make our Chinatown Food Tour such a special way to experience Chicago. Being locally owned is a huge part of what makes our tours different. We’re proud to be Chicago’s only locally owned food tour operator. Chicago is our home, and our guides don’t simply lead visitors through its neighborhoods—we live here, love these communities, and have developed genuine relationships with the chefs, restaurant owners, and teams who bring them to life. Those connections allow our Food Tour in Chinatown Chicago to go beyond simply tasting great dishes and give guests a deeper understanding of the people, stories, traditions, and culture behind the food. We’re incredibly honored that this commitment has helped us earn recognition as the #1 food tour in Chicago. We also love hearing that you met wonderful fellow travelers along the way. One of the joys of a culinary walking tour is watching strangers arrive from different places and leave having shared a memorable Chicago experience together. Bobby's Bike Hike & Food Tours is passionate about our four core tenets of travel, community, health, and service, and we’re grateful you chose to spend part of your visit exploring Chinatown with us. For anyone searching for memorable Things to Do in Chicago, we hope your recommendation inspires them to discover this incredible neighborhood one bite and one story at a time. We’d love to welcome you back on another adventure the next time you’re in Chicago!
A wonderful 2-1/2 hours of walking the streets of both "new" and "old" chinatown. The guide, Alex, was deeply knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood as well as Chinese cuisine and its US counterpart (and how they are different and why). The stops (5 for food at restaurants and several more along the way for fun-facts of the area) were all close enough to be easy on the feet but separated enough to show how large and diverse Chicago's Chinatown area is. Alex studied (either formal...閱讀更多
Thank you for such a thoughtful and wonderfully detailed review! As new transplants to Chicago, you have so many neighborhoods and stories ahead of you, and we’re thrilled that our Chinatown Food Tour could be part of your introduction to the city. It’s fantastic to hear how much you appreciated Alex’s depth of knowledge. Chinatown becomes even more fascinating when you can connect what you’re eating with the history, language, immigration stories, and cultural traditions that shaped both “old” and “new” Chinatown. Understanding why Chinese cuisine and Chinese-American cuisine developed differently adds another layer to every bite, and Alex has a wonderful ability to bring those connections to life. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words about his storytelling, translations, pacing, and organization. We’re also glad you noticed how smoothly the restaurant visits were coordinated. That doesn’t happen by accident. We’re proud to be Chicago’s only locally owned food tour operator, and those local roots make a meaningful difference. Chicago is our home, and over the years we’ve developed genuine relationships with the chefs, restaurant owners, and teams who welcome our guests. We aren’t simply passing through these neighborhoods—we know them, care about them, and want visitors to understand the people behind the food. Those relationships help us create a Food Tour in Chinatown Chicago that feels seamless while still being personal, authentic, and deeply connected to the community. It’s also why being ranked the #1 food tour in Chicago means so much to our locally owned team. Your description of the route captures something we really value about this culinary walking tour: there’s enough walking to reveal just how expansive and diverse Chinatown is, while the food and cultural stops create a relaxed rhythm rather than making the experience feel rushed. Five restaurant tastings mixed with neighborhood history and those unexpected “fun fact” stops are all part of turning lunch into an exploration. And what a great way to make a full Chicago adventure out of the day by arriving via the water! Seeing the skyline from the river before exploring Chinatown on foot certainly makes for a memorable combination. For travelers researching Things to Do in Chicago, your experience is a great reminder that some of the best days here come from leaving the car behind and experiencing the city from the water, sidewalks, and L. Bobby's Bike Hike & Food Tours would love to see you again as you continue discovering your new hometown, whether that’s on our Chicago Favorites Food and Walking Tour or one of our award-winning Bike and Food Tours. There is still plenty of Chicago to eat, explore, and uncover, and we’d be honored to be part of another adventure. Thank you again for choosing our Chinatown Food Tour and for sharing such a helpful recommendation with future guests!
Alex was super fun and knows quite a lot about the Chinese culture making the experience enjoyable. I enjoyed the food choices and the cultural lessons.
Thank you for joining us and for sharing your experience! We’re so glad Alex made the day both fun and informative. Great food is certainly at the heart of our Chinatown Food Tour, but we believe understanding the traditions, history, and culture behind each bite is what turns a meal into a truly memorable Chicago experience. We’re especially happy you enjoyed the food selections alongside Alex’s cultural lessons. Our goal with every Food Tour in Chinatown Chicago is to introduce guests not only to delicious dishes, but also to the stories and people that have helped shape this remarkable neighborhood. That combination of food, history, and exploration is what makes a culinary walking tour such a unique way to discover Chinatown. Being local is also central to everything we do. We’re proud to be Chicago’s only locally owned food tour operator, and Chicago isn’t simply where we give tours—it’s our home. We live in these communities and have built genuine relationships with the chefs, restaurant owners, and teams behind the places we visit. Those connections allow us to share a more authentic side of the city and are a big reason we’re so honored to be ranked the #1 food tour in Chicago. We’re also incredibly proud that Bobby's Bike Hike & Food Tours is ranked among the Top 20 tour companies in the world. For visitors searching for memorable Things to Do in Chicago, we hope experiences like yours encourage them to explore beyond the usual sights and discover Chicago through its neighborhoods, cultures, and incredible food.
