This was one of the highlights from our time in Split. Our chef, Petar, was incredible! He met us near the farmer’s market to buy fresh produce for our meals and shared the history and rules of the market. We then stopped at the fish market-a building we had passed many times but never knew what it is until this experience. This was FANTASTIC! We loved the visit to the local produce and fish markets to start the tour and learning the history of the city along the walk to the cooking school. We also learned how to clean fish and test that it’s fresh. Our lead chef was wonderful (our class ended up being private), teaching us how to cook sardines, dorado, carpacchio, risotto with calamari, homemade bread, and rozata cake. I highly recommend if you are a foodie and want an authentic Dalmatian experience!
This was such an excellent experience. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything very well and was fun to be with in the kitchen. I learned how to clean a fish, something that has always intimidated me, and he made it so easy. Our meal was delicious, we made so much food I won’t need to eat again today!
