She is passionate about Japanese culture and food, and we enjoyed conversing with her and learning more how the history and culture of Japan affected its food. Yoko-san is a delight to learn from, with inside experience of the cultural traditions that makes modern sushi. She's also quite entertaining, and after we finished cooking and sat to eat, she shared her vast experience of the trees and local nature of Japan. The bottom line is that every bite of the food we made together was beyond totemo oishii.

My husband and I had an incredible time learning to make sushi with Saeko! Saeko welcomed us into her home and kitchen, where we learned all about the different ingredients in miso soup, sushi, and tofu, and then we got to make (and eat) each! We would love to take another class by Saeko. Very highly recommend this class as part of your visit to Japan! 🌸

This was one of our favourite evenings ever! We had the most wonderful experience , learning about Japanese food and it’s origins and history, trying different types of ingredients, making our food and eating it in beautiful company. Yoko is a wonderful human and her passion for food and meeting travellers is inspirational. She is kind hearted and exciting to be around. I think this evening will stay in our memories forever. I haven’t even mentioned the food!!! We love sushi back home but this is something else!!! The freshest of ingredients used and we could have eaten the whole meal over again. Would highly recommend. Enjoyed every single minute of the experience. Left feeling gratitude and humbled. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful home.

This cooking class has been an absolute highlight of our time in Japan! As a first-timer, Saeko was an excellent instructor with remarkable talent and a fantastic setup. The experience was incredibly authentic, and the flavors of the food were simply amazing. I'm still amazed at what I was able to create! I'm eagerly anticipating recreating these beautiful Japanese dishes at home using the recipes she provided. Highly recommended!
