Made to feel like home
We started the experience with a tour of the food market to select the vegetables to cook and we was made to feel so welcome by our hosts. It was a really great experience to learn about the different vegetables of Sri Lanka and be made to feel like a local! Highlight of the holiday!
We had an amazing experience with the family! We started at the local market, where we could choose our own vegetables, while everything else had already been prepared. I found this very relaxing, as we could focus entirely on the cooking rather than the preparations.
From very informative stories about how food is prepared in Sri Lanka and which spices are used, to watching everything come together into delicious dishes and, of course, enjoying our own creations.

Amazing Cooking class in Kandy
We absolutely loved our cooking class experience. The family who run this are so warm and friendly and truly create a memorable evening. We loved getting to experience the local markets, learn all about the vegetables and then pick out what we wanted to cook! Their outdoor home kitchen is setup so beautifully and we learnt so much about srilankan food. The feast we made was some of the best we’d had in srilanka and we’d highly recommend this experience to anyone travelling in Kandy!
