You know it is going to be good when the wine making tour and tasting is lead by one of the wine makers themselves. A very passionate man who loves making and experimenting with wine making techniques, and it shows in the wines. We chose the Premier tasting of wines made in the Armenian fashion. I've loved Trinity wines for a long time, but I've been to the winery quite recently. The atmosphere of the winery is literally immersed in a special world of harmony and history, every detail is filled with deep meaning and philosophy. We were greeted by the smiley co-founder of Owakim Winery. He led the tour with such enthusiasm that it was impossible to resist the spell of the place. In The Club, where they have Trinity Wine Cellar in Yerevan, we were given a brochure with vineyard tasting program at the Trinity itself. We were going to Noravank and the Bird Cave (Areni-1), so it was not far. Great experience. It's small, very rustic, like going into someone's backyard. But the winery is state of the art with amazing wines. The winemaker was on hand to give us a tour and tell their story.
Boutique winery, very authentic, with world-class wines and very friendly winemaker who gave us a tour. We visited their restaurants in Yerevan before coming here, so we knew the wines but it's a very special experience when you're guided by the people who actually make the wine.
