Our private bar-hopping experience in downtown Kyoto with our guide, Taiga, was absolutely incredible! From the moment we met him, he made us feel welcome and guided us through some of the city’s hidden gems that we never would’ve found on our own. We ate amazing local food, each stop offered something unique and delicious and enjoyed authentic drinks that perfectly matched the lively Kyoto nightlife. Taiga’s knowledge of the area, his great energy, and his fun personality made the evening even more memorable. We saw beautiful backstreets and cozy bars filled with character, laughter, and locals. The tour was amazing!!! Haruka is absolutely the best! We had such a fun time exploring Kyoto with her! All of the restaurants and bars on the tour were outstanding. The food and drinks were great and Haruka was so good at walking us through everything. Such a fun time, and I would absolutely recommend this tour to any tourists visiting Kyoto. Ask for Haruka as your guide!! She’s the best!!

The bars were well chosen and all had an elegant and edgy ambience, felt clean & great mix of modern and classic quality. The tour leader was great at her job, very informative and open, putting each participant at ease with a great relationship with each bar. Excellent way to see some of the fineness of Kyoto compared to other cities in Japan

We were a group of 12 people which felt too many for one young guide to be able to give his full attention. The guide was a student in his early 20s. He took us to 3 places, 1st for food where we sat on the floor (traditional) then 2 bars close to each other for sake tasting then a karaoke bar. Be careful food and drinks not included in this tour so I would recommend you discuss how you want to split the bill at the beginning. Some participants may drink more than others and wouldn’t be fair to divide the bill equally. If you can afford it, choose a private tour so everything can be tailored to your liking.

The tour was amazing. We visited three different bars, tried different food (attention cause you need to pay extra for the drinks and food, it's cheap though). The guide was great and she showed us the traditions, explained us the drinking culture and answered all of our silly questions. At the end of the tour and in the last bar the group sticked around to have some additional drinks after the tour guide left.

This is a must-do tour when you visit Kyoto! Our guide, Soma, is friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Also other people who joined the tour were amazed. The places Soma took us to were amazing, like the Izakaya, sake restaurant and local bars that I wouldn’t have found on my own without joining this tour. This tour is suitable for everyone, whether you’re a couple or traveling solo.

First time solo travelling to Japan and thought a bar tour would be a great way to socialise. Met a great group of people and Mio our guide was very nice. We definitely went to places we would have never entered/ found on our own. Food was great at the first spot (get the karage and cucumbers), but you do have to take off shoes so come prepared. Sake bar was really nice, we did a sampler of 3 but the cloudy sake was the best! The last spot was a hidden gem with an amazing owner and drinks. Recommend the Whiskey Green tea and Shanghai Peach. Only took off a star as Mio struggled with English so while a lot of persons in the group were asking for recommendations, her default answer was “choose whatever you like”.
