Master Masako is a really knowledgeable chef and it has been an honour knowing her mum and grandma’s recipe
She is also extremely kind and generous and goes the extra mile to make your evening a special one. And she does in a really natural way.
We hope to do this experience again in the future and next time try her Japanese Tea ceremony, as she is a Master in that

Masako was an exceptional host! She was extremely kind and funny while providing us with 3 new Japanese cooking techniques, with a family recipe twist. We got to eat what we cooked for dinner and took the extra portion to go! We also ended with many caligraphy dedications from the master herself!
I would highly recommend this experience to people wanting to learn how to cook timeless Japanese recipes (udon, tomagoyaki and tempura), while having fun conversations and getting immersed in the culture first hand.

My cooking lesson with Yuka was perfect! She was very organized, her instructions were very clear, and time was well managed. The food I learned to make was delicious and easy enough that I feel confident I can make it again when I return home, and no now I have the recipes she gave me to help. I’m very happy with my experience.

Thank you Masako for being so patient with us as we got lost on the trains and were running late. We hand kneaded wheat flour and water to make udon then put it in plastic to step on it the traditional way. It was fun for my 12yr old daughter and I.
Next we made tamagoyaki which was egg and miso and water with some sugar. After we ate that we processed to fry our tempura and cooked our udon noodles. We had to place it nicely on the plate and while we enjoyed lunch Masako wrote some calligraphy for us. She gifted us some calligraphy to take home as well as a cute fan with both versions of our Japanese names on both sides.
We also took away the udon and tempura we could not finish so we can enjoy it later.
Definitely worth the time if u can make it down to Kita-seju area which is about 50mins away from Shibuya. Her studio is not far from the station.
