Wow wow wow!!! I am still dreaming about our time with Jane! She is Canadian but has lived full time in Mexico for many many years (maybe 20?). So she is considered a real local to the Hualtuco community. Her background and education in women’s history and Mexican culture shines through in the experience she creates for her guests. I had this experience back in December 2024 and it was exceptional. It is off the beaten path, but that’s a part of the fun. The good was amazing and there is also a small gift shop where you can buy cooking utensils, salt seasonings, etc. The host is very in tune with the local village and the surrounding ecosystem; her knowledge of your food and how everything is sourced makes for an even better experience. The food was delicious! I cannot recommend this enough.

I can’t speak highly enough of this experience. The host/owner, Jane, is extremely knowledgeable of Oaxaca, Huatulco, the local community, and the people and history that make up the culture of this beautiful region. I could go through and list the many delicious dishes we had and the story behind each, but it wouldn’t be helpful.
