Aki knows Ueno, and it shows. It was a mix of new food experiences and great cultural learning. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to eat like a local and learn more about japan in general.

Aki is a great guide! Had lots of fun, great food and learnt about Ueno. Went to places we’d never have gone on our own, and all dietary reqs were well catered for. Highly recommend booking this tour.

Wonderful experience with Aki learning more about Japanese food and drink culture, with tons of delicious food in establishments that truly felt local. We were also super grateful for him working around a gluten sensitivity and saw that he was attentive to various food preferences amongst our group. Learned about the Ueno area and had an all around fantastic time!

Aki was an incredible guide, very personable and an all around pleasure to spend an evening with. Even more impressive was his ability to work with my wife’s Celiac disease. He made sure I had something to eat and drink at every stop. Cannot say enough good things, nor could I recommend this more highly. Arigatou gozaimasu!

Thank you to Aki for providing our group of 4 a wonderful food sampling tour. I am a celiac and was very pleased that you were able to accommodate me. I know finding gluten free options is not always the easiest thing to do in Japan!

Aki is a fantastic tour guide and we had a great time on the tour. He took us to several local spots that we would not have otherwise known about, and each spot had delicious food and drinks. He also gave a lot of background information about the local culture and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour!

Aki took us to a part of Tokyo I would not have seen otherwise, down narrow streets packed with restaurants and bars, some of them under the train tracks. Delicious sake, sashimi, grilled meat, ramen and a friendly and personable host. Seeing a tiny bar with friendly customers was a highlight. Come very hungry!

We enjoyed having our own personal tour guide (Keiko) to show us places we might have missed if we were on our own, especially the small shops on the quiet back roads. Good selection of food choices in Yanaka Ginza--we were stuffed at the end. We also appreciated small touches such as our guide providing a bag for our trash and hand wipes for our sticky hands. Overall, the pacing and time allotted for this tour was just right.
