This tour is a must for enjoying food and learning so much about the Shinjuku area. By far, ending the night in the Golden Gai area was a true experience!

We loved doing this tour. Our guide Glenda was welcoming and was very knowledgeable of the area and the food outlets. We were very lucky in being able to eat at one restaurant in particular which is normally very hard to get into, and the food was delicious. We had a lot of fun and can highly recommend this tour. Glenda made it great.

We really enjoyed our food and pub tour of Shinjuku - our guide was knowledgeable and fun, and we learned a lot about the history of the area. We got to eat different types of food, and it was a good amount and balance of each - we never felt it was repetitive, nor did we feel too full. I really liked that the tour ended at Golden Gai, where we stayed for many additional hours having a wonderful time! My only comment is that it seemed we walked in circles sometimes, and it wasn't clear to me why that was. But overall, great tour!

This tour was incredible! Oz was a fantastic tour guide: very kind and very knowledgeable. We were so grateful to learn so much about the area and the food from him. And OMG the food! Everything we ate was excellent and we tried several things we had never eaten before. We even went back to Golden Gai another night because we felt more comfortable and informed to go. If you're going to Tokyo and have some time in Shinjuku, this tour is a must. Worth every penny and a highlight of our trip.

We had a really fun time with Sandra on this tour! It's great overview of the Shinjuku area, Japanese food, and life in Tokyo. You get to try food at 3 different restaurants, so the value is good. If anything, it may be a little too much as we were stuffed by the end!

We had a fantastic tour with Alex and Yuki! They were extremely knowledgeable and took us to some incredibly delicious places. We decided to book this last minute as something to do on the last night of our Japan trip and I’m so glad we did!

We had a great time exploring Shinjuku and eating/ drinking our way through. It was great to learn about the history of these iconic places and discover whole new area we would have never found of we didn't have a guide. Highly recommend!

We joined the Shinjuku Food Tour and had a great time. We were introduced to the history of the area as well as some etiquette and we really enjoyed the different restaurants and foods we were able to sample. Alex, our guide was definitely the right man for the job! We saw a side of Tokyo nightlife we wouldn’t otherwise have seen and ended the night with extremely full bellies! Happy and satisfied!

A must go tour! My husband and I booked this tour last minute and we are so glad we did! It really made our trip to Shinjuku memorable. Our tour guide, Yappi, was wonderful and humorous and went above and beyond. Yappi took us through the various parts of Shinjuku including Golden Gai, teaching us about facts and history of the area as we experienced the delicious food and drinks. As foreigners, it can feel intimidating entering the smaller restaurant establishments (izakayas) when you know little Japanese. This tour made this possible and enjoyable and we even saw a famous Kabuki actor at the izakaya! The highlight of the tour was going to an authentic sushi restaurant and eating at the bar as the chefs prepared the fresh sushi. I have food restrictions and Yappi made sure each restaurant observed this in my meals. A member of our group started feeling unwell and Yappi was gracious and helped them to their Uber. At the end of the tour we wanted to go to a certain bar and Yappi helped us get there and to find a table. Don’t miss out on this tour! Book with Yappi if you can!
