Went up to Bordeaux on a whim and had literally nothing planned. I had never been to the city before nor did any research about it, so it was a blessing to find out about Food Lover Tour. A trip to Bordeaux should always include a wine tour and this one was terrific. Our guide, Joshua, showed a deep love of the regional wines and cuisine (selected cheeses, charcuterie) as well as a keen understanding of wine making and Bordeaux history and its influences on the local wine industry. What an incredible tour! My fiancé and I did the wine tour and it was worth every penny. The wines we tasted were delicious, and it was satisfying to drink them alongside some of their history. As a self-proclaimed cheese addict, it was fascinating to learn about WHY French cheese is so special, and the cheeses we tasted were delectable! We had an excellent tour with Joshua. He’s incredibly eloquent and explains the history of the place we pass by in the city in such an engaging and understandable way. The stops were great, good amount of walking and sitting down, we tasted a great variety of wines paired with cheeses, charcuterie, and even some delicious sweets.
