The Cañadon Experience is a medium difficulty trek that allows us to travel along the riverbed of the Calafate Creek, until we reach the 25 de Mayo Stay Section. The surrounding hills form a canyon that invites you to discover it enjoying the stream, always safe from the wind that the valley offers. In the course of the walk you will see a lot of birds, river trout and flora characteristic of the steppe. They are 7 kilometers on the rise where you will travel through canyons, streams, geological formations containing marine fossils that show that the environments that are transited were mutated over the years. Trekking culminates when you arrive at the Section, house located 800 meters above sea level, in a valley with a magnificent view of the hills, ideal for relaxing and enjoying lunch. The tour is private by vehicle. During lunch you can share with other passengers of another excursion if any.

Cheese board, confit lamb and olives. Lentil stew with meat. Cheesecake. Drinks included: wine, juice and mineral water.

Cañadón Experience is a trekking that allows you to cross the bed of the Calafate stream until you reach La Estancia Section 25 de Mayo, located 800 meters above sea level. Crossing canyons and streams, we go back on foot to the valley that will take us into unexplored landscapes of Patagonia. During the walk we will see a large number of birds, river trout and flora characteristic of the steppe. Upon reaching the section, lunch is offered at the house with a view of the landscape. The descent is undertaken in 4x4 trucks.

A Must-Do archaeological tour!

This experience was spectacular, almost like an archaeology class led by Sergio, a true expert. Seeing the massive rock formations shaped by glaciers and exploring the caves was incredible. And when we reached the cave paintings and imagined their meaning, it was deeply moving. The lunch inside the cave was unforgettable, honestly better than any safari experience in Africa. This tour should be a must-do on any trip to El Calafate.

Una experiencia extraordinaria

Recién volvimos de una experiencia increíble, El Cañadon con una empresa llamada Patagonia Profunda “ Salida en 4x 4 con un guía que conduce extraordinario!!!! Ganas de contarnos todo, mas que capacitado y muy amable Alejandro!!! Bajamos a caminar por montaña , al costado arroyos , nos cuentan sobre cómo se formó el Cañadon La guía una grosa! Pilar !!! Loved it!

We booked this trip not really knowing what to expect other than we wanted to see more of El Calafate. We LOVED it. Nacho was a fantastic guide and driver. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and also about the history of Argentina in general - really interesting and good company. We saw fossils, burial sites, huge skies, vast landscapes and of course guanacos.
