The experience often begins with a trip to a bustling local market, Here, your guide will introduce you to a variety of fresh produce, herbs, and spices, explaining their uses and cultural significance. You'll learn how to select the best ingredients for your meal, from ripe coconuts to aromatic curry leaves. In a home kitchen or a dedicated cooking space, you'll roll up your sleeves and get to work. Under the guidance of us, you'll learn traditional cooking methods, such as grinding spices on a stone mortar and pestle and preparing dishes in traditional clay pots. Recommendations for a Sri Lankan food experience

I was a little hesitant about the meeting (pickup), but the market tour and shopping, and the cooking experience afterward, were beyond my expectations. It was the best experience, where I felt like I made it myself, with cooking in a comfortable space and easy-to-understand explanations. However, I'm worried if I can do this by myself, but since you will provide the recipe, I'm looking forward to trying it at home. The guide was polite and friendly, and I think it was a flawless tour.

Really lovely cooking class in Colombo. The experience felt personal and authentic since it was held in the instructor’s home. He was very friendly, detailed, and made sure I understood every step of each dish. A very nice experience overall — highly recommended.

A must-do experience

What a fabulous morning. I met Pradeep at a local market to gather some supplies and then we proceeded to his house where we cooked a meal together. It was a relaxed, unhurried experience and afterwards we sat down and ate together. Pradeep is a warm and friendly host, knowledgeable and passionate about Sri Lanka and its culture.
