Before we start to cook , we are going to visit the farm to see and feed the animals and also we are going to cut fresh vegetables from our garden that we will use for our cooking. Meet Hercules our donkey, our goats , our puppies and our chickens!

We offer cooking lessons in Krousonas village. Super family friendly! The programme last at least 4 hours. Firstly we will welcome you with some Cretan delights and refreshments . We will discuss the menu and you can choose from the season options(vegan or not) what would you like to cook. Secondly we will visit the farm , we will feed the goats and sheeps and if its summer probably you can also milk the goats. In continue when you choose menu (vegan or not) we go to gather our organic vegetables from our orchard, you will have time to explore nature, breath fresh air, learn important information about the plant and of course live the experience cutting the fresh vegetables and fruit. When we collect our vegetables , we start to prepare our meal and cook. You will learn all the secrets of Cretan cuisine with us . (It depends from the season you can also taste and watch the production of cheese.) When the meal is ready you can enjoy it in our veranda relaxing with the amazing view. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Cooking lessons become under the shadow of the grapevine. Also the cooking lessons are the perfect family activity. Live as a local for a day.

A true Cretan experience you won't forget

Rustic taverno situated atop a mountain just 30 minutes outside of Heraklion. Seville, our host, did a wonderful job of showing us around the family farm property, and explaining each course our the meal we were about to prepare. We were two retired couple's from Canada dining with two young couples from Germany. The food we prepared was delicious and the atmosphere was very homey. I would highly recommend this activity for anyone wishing to experience true Cretan culture.

Wonderful Cooking Experience from Welcoming Family

We had a wonderful Cretan experience with Sevi and her mom. As a cruise passenger, she helped us coordinate taxi transportation to/from the port and was outside to welcome us when we arrived. Due to other guests not able to attend last minute, we had a our own "private" class. We chose a salad (dakos), starter (saganaki), main (lamb with green beans and potatoes) and dessert (loukoumedes) from a recipe book of options based on seasonal ingredients. Thank you, Sevi and your lovely, warm, and welcoming family for giving my wife and me one of the best vacation experiences of our lives! Your place is stunningly beautiful, the food was so fun to cook and even better to eat, and, most importantly, you made us feel so special. We will remember our 4 hours with you for the rest of our lives. ❤️

Unmissable experience to experience real Cretian cooking.

Sevi and her family are so welcoming. We had an amazing time learning to cook Cretian food. This was the highlight of our trip. We made the most delicious food with produce grown and made on the farm. We even got to feed the lovely goats. Couldn't recommend this enough, you'll have a lovely time meeting new people and being guided to make tasty food by Sevi and her lovely mum.
