Indulge in a culinary adventure by Spending 3 hours with your host, who will introduce you to some of the flavors that make this city so distinctive. Learn about the variety of foods that might mean dining like a local, and be sure to consume them in some of the most genuine settings available. Explore the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, a historic Cape Malay neighborhood where you can have bobotie, tomato bredie, and curries Amble down trendy Bree Street and take in the local cafe culture. HIGHLIGHTS: Private tour, Cape Town local food, cultural storytelling, multiple tasting stops, flexible small-group pace. ITINERARY STOP LABELS: Bo-Kaap, Cape Town City Bowl, selected local food venues, final tasting stop. Participants under 18 receive food/non-alcoholic tastings only.

Taste your way through Cape Town with a private local guide on a three'- hour food and culture experience. Discover neighbourhood flavours, local dishes and the stories behind Cape Town's diverse culinary identity while moving between carefully selected tasting stops.. Visitor will sample food that is deeply ingrained in the city's culture, including Cape Malay specialties like samoosa, tomato bredie, and bobotie, traditional Xhosa dishes like pap, a porridge made of ground maize, or hearty oxtail stew, and South African braai mainstays like boerewors. You're sure to discover a new favorite dish along the way. He/she may enjoy Cape Malay curries in the vibrant Bo-Kaap, take in the buzz of trendy Bree Street and its varied cafe culture, and sample some handmade street cuisine at the V&A market. Guest will be in for a kaleidoscope of flavors and a few surprises, so just have an open mind.

Authentic African dining!

Just wonderful!

There were only my wife and I on the tour so we were a bit apprehensive at first. But Lieven soon made us feel at ease with his friendly chat. He was very knowledgeable about Cape Town and he took us to a great Malay restaurant in Bokaap which we would never have done. Then on to Mama Africa where, among other things, we enjoyed crocodile meat, ostrich meat and some kind of worms… I managed just the one! Then Lieven very helpfully drove us back to our hotel. Had to pivot due to the national holiday, but the company did a great job with our alternate dinner activity!

We had this booked prior to our visit to Cape Town, but were messaged from the company that due to the national holiday the following day most the restaurants were closing early and we would not be able to do the walking food tour. Instead of just cancelling on us, they found an alternative dinner plan for our family at the Gold restaurant.
