This is a unique opportunity to meet a lovely, local couple and learn about Puerto Rican cuisine and culture. Their beautiful countryside home where your Puerto Rican cooking class takes place is located about 1 hour from San Juan or Ponce. Rafi and Lela are a lovely couple who come from large families (Lela has 32 in her immediate family!) that enjoy food, cooking and partying! Rafi learned to cook from his father and everyone in Lela's family is passionate about cooking or barbecuing. They recently converted their house with a stunning view of the mountains and sea into a B&B. Join Rafi and Lela for a Puerto Rican cooking class near San Juan. They will welcome you into their countryside home (and B&B) in Cayey with a ginger or lavender lemonade or passionfruit mimosa! Enjoy your drink on the deck as you take in the stunning view of the mountains and sea that surround you. With a basket in hand, gather vegetables and herbs from the garden that you will use for your seasonal Puerto Rican cooking class. In their kitchen, Rafi and Lela will teach you the secrets of cooking traditional Puerto Rican comfort food from recipes passed down through generations in their families. You will learn to cook three dishes made from local and seasonal Puerto Rican ingredients. Your cooking lesson lasts about an hour and a half after which you will sit down to enjoy your meal at their communal kitchen table or dining room or outside, weather permitting.

Delicious & Authentic Puerto Rican Cooking Experience

What an excellent experience from start to finish! Rafi is a wonderful host who greeted us with cold lemonade after our hour+ drive from Dorado. He is an easy conversationalist and he provided us with lots of Puerto Rican history of Cayey and the island. Rafi explained in detail the hows and whys as we cooked the signature dishes he selected. 100% Worthy Experience!

Wow!! As the son of a Puerto Rican chef, the food was top-notch! Our family of three booked this cooking class with Rafi and his wife, Lela, and it was such an amazing experience! First off, their hospitality is through the roof. They are so welcoming and generous to open up their home and their lives with their guests. Wonderful Cooking Experience

If you're looking for culture, great food, and warm friendly hosts this is for you! We absolutely enjoyed learning how to make local cuisine along and learning about Puerto Rico from our hosts . Their lovely home is absolutely stunning both inside and out. I highly recommend you bring a camera for the views of the mountains. I would highly recommend Dos Marias. Our hosts Lela and Rafi are absolutely wonderful and welcoming!
