Enjoy a private and authentic cooking class in a local home with host Manya who is an environmentalist, a kitchen furniture designer, a chef and a tour guide! This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Your cooking class will take place in a local home kitchen where Manya will teach you how to make 2-3 traditional Armenian dishes from their family recipes. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together in your host's Yerevan home. • Cooking lesson in a local home • Introduction to Armenian culture and cuisine • 100% private activity • Experience Armenian hospitality in a residential Kotayk neighborhood • Vegetarian options available • If you choose the market tour grade option, your experience will include a visit to the local market. Your host will introduce you to her favored vendors and help you discover local produce. Together you will purchase a few ingredients for your cooking class.

Cook traditional Armenian food in a local Yerevan home

Step into Manya’s Yerevan home for a private hands-on cooking class and discover the traditional flavors of Armenian cuisine. Learn to prepare authentic Armenian dishes while hearing stories about local ingredients, recipes, and food traditions, then sit down with Manya to enjoy your homemade meal. Convenient round-trip transfers from your Yerevan accommodation are included. Manya lives with her husband, Eduard, their son, Vazgen, and her parents, Saharuni and Larisa – who will be part of the experience whenever they are available. In your one-hour, hands-on cooking class join Manya in her kitchen to learn to make traditional Armenian dishes using family recipes. You will learn to make a salad or side dish, a main dish, and a dessert. You then join the family to share the meal you helped prepare. If you choose the market tour option, join Manya on a guided tour of Nor Nork Farmers market. Walk through this lovely local market and learn about fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices used in Armenian cooking. Buy a few ingredients from the market, before driving for 5-7 mins to Manya's home for the rest of your experience.

Not your average dinner!

This was our first time using TravelingSpoon and based on our experience will not be the last! Manya and her lovely family welcomed us into their town, their home and dinner table. We felt comfortable and welcomed, got to learn some special dishes and get to know a lovely family. I can't recommend this 'experience' enough, although it felt more like making a new friend!

Great experience, lovely host and delicious food!

Having lunch with Manya in Yerevan was our second cooking experience with Travelling Spoon (first time was in Lebanon, 2 years ago) and probably the highlight of our one-week holiday in Armenia. We spent a lovely afternoon learning about the exciting Armenian cuisine, tasting various ingredients in an amazing popular and lively local market and of course cooking and eating the delicious meals Manya planned for us after I mentioned two of my favourite ingredients: lamb and aubergine. Enjoyable meal and evening!

Overall I had a very enjoyable time with Manya. I particularly enjoyed the market our portion of the afternoon, and I was able to see a market which I'd have never found on my own. I really liked the explanations of Armenian cuisine and culture, and I would do it again!
