When the entire city was consumed by the roaring engines and the glitz of the Marina Bay circuit, I loved that you chose to step entirely out of that chaos to seek out the quieter, unfiltered soul of the island. Wandering through the vibrant lanes of Geylang Serai and the pastel shophouses of Joo Chiat with you was fantastic. Often, travelers are so focused on the ultra-modern skyline that they completely overlook the rich, interwoven tapestry of our Malay and Peranakan heritage in the East. It takes a seasoned traveler to look past the shiny tourist traps and appreciate the complex architectural and culinary history that actually makes this country tick. My guide was excellent, and WELL worth the money! Highly recommend for anyone who is either new to Singapore, or familiar with Singapore and want to find some additional hidden places.
It was a great way to spend 3 hours learning about the history, religion, food, culture and Chinese people of the area. Eunice was a very professional, engaging and enthusiastic tour guide with many fun facts and stories. I highly recommend this tour if you're in Singapore. Bill
