Starting in the late afternoon, as the light softens over the Grand Socco, we’ll journey through Tangier’s bustling Main Market and old medina where locals shop, eat, and unwind at day’s end. This is Tangier in transition, when the city glows gold before dusk and the aromas of dinner begin to fill the air. Over the next four hours, we’ll taste our way through the city’s culinary heart. Sample mountain jben cheese with honey and almond amlou, savour creamy chickpea calientes, and visit decades-old eateries known only to locals for their fragrant tagines. Go underground to a communal oven to learn about Tangier’s fiery food traditions, watch delicate wacqa pastries being handmade, and end the evening with nutty Arabic sweets and house-roasted spiced coffee, among many more surprises. With 15+ tastings across markets, backstreets, and hidden kitchens, this twilight feast captures Tangier's food scene as locals know it.

On foot, we'll discover the old souk, the Main Market and the winding white-washed alleys of the medina. Meet outside Cinéma Rif, an old art-deco cinema located on the Grand Socco at the edge of Tangier’s medina. It’s easily accessible from most hotels and riads in the city. The tour lasts approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on the pace of the group and concludes back at the same meeting point.

Great tour

Thami gave us a great tour around the medina - a real variety of authentic dishes, often in spots clearly mainly frequented by locals, mixed with interesting stories of the history of the food and city. Very good value for money and would definitely recommend.

Tánger food experience

This was my favorite tour in Morroco. We visited 4 cities and this is hands down the best of all of them. The food, the story, the conversation was amazing. I highly recommend Thami, he is a wonderful, respectful and nice guide!

Book this tour- You won't regret it!

Thami was an excellent guide. He shared interesting information on each food and drink we had on the tour. We went to places off the beaten path where locals frequent more than tourists. Thami was easy to talk to and super accommodating, often asking if there was anything else we wanted to try. We had two teen boys and he was relatable even to them. He was patient and did not hurry us at all. Last, but absolutely not least, the food was delicious! If we ever come back to Morocco, we'll be...daha fazla oku

A+ Food Tour in Tanger!

Thami is an Amazing guide. He was super patient, generous, and knowledgeable of all things Moroccan including food and history. The walk through the Medina and tastings were nothing short of magical and tasty. We had dates, mint tea, authentic tangier food — just AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing and guiding me.
