We cooperate with 2 families who are located 40 min drive from Nafplio in a mountainous village, 700 meters altitude. The village is one of the highlights in our region where locals hang out and where you can eat authentic , village food. One family has a restaurant-local tavern and the other one owns a home with a wooden oven.What we are going to do; We drink fresh water at the spring fountain at the village square while we do an introduction about this place. Continuing we drink a mountain tea with honey and a panoramic view of the mountains and the village.Afterwards aprons on and hands on , to start making 2 recipes :The famous Greek tzatziki and Gemista (Stuffed vegetables with sauce and rice) As soon as we finish you will walk just 5 min from the restaurant to meet the second 'chef'-housewife-Greek grandmother (yiayia in Greek)You are going to learn how to cook a cheese pie making your own phyllo and learning how to cook it in a wooden oven-Slow cooking-

After of 45 min drive from Nafplio you will be in a mountainous village -700 meteres altitude.It's a place where locals hang out away from crowdy places and with authentic mountain Greek dishes. You will drink fresh water at the spring fountain at the village square while we do an introduction about this place. Don’t miss this excursion from Nafplio

This was one of the highlights on our trip! Mira is a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable on the region and small village. We learned to cook a traditional Greek meal, share stories and enjoy our lunch. The ladies of the village showed much hospitality and shared their cooking skills with us. This tour takes place in a mountain village- about 45 minutes from Nafplio. It was well worth the beautiful drive for our experience. A taste of Greek village life so authentic, you'll believe you have a Greek grandmother

GrecoPaths didn't take us to Greece — they took us into it. This is the kind of experience that reminds you why you travel in the first place. Mira, our guide, brought us to Kaira, Greece. We were staying in Nafplio and given a Maps link to this village. We plugged it in and found ourselves in a tucked-away village that feels genuinely untouched by the tourist trail. A very good taste of mountain village life in the Peloponnese!

Our 3-generation family of three — 85 year-old, 60-year-old, 25-year old—had a great time at this cooking class in a small mountain village. If you’re an experienced cook don’t expect to learn anything new, but that won’t stop you from having fun while making good dishes with women who have been cooking them all their lives. Our guide Mira was truly top-notch and helped ensure a top-notch experience for all of us.

An amazing adventure!

Getting to meet some wonderful people in a secluded Greek village, had been one of the best trips that we could have ever chosen! We learnt how to cook the greek way and everyone was amazingly fun, kind and wonderful at the same time. What an experience, a 1000% recommend it!!!

Fabulous cooking class and trip to the mountain village!

Wonderful day with guide Mira and the rest of the GrecoPaths group! We (my family) were driven by Mira up to a mountain village and enjoyed meeting other members of the GrecoPaths staff, including Stavroula. We spent a little time with them, and then the first chef instructed us on making stuffed vegetables and tzatziki in the kitchen of a small taverna.
