The hunt for truffles is nice, flat, and leisurely. I highly recommend including the lunch as it was phenomenal.

What makes my truffle hunting adventure unique? It od a real truffle hunt, not just a demonstration. Guests experience authentic truffle hunting in the forest together with trained dogs. We also keep our groups small — a maximum of 10 people — to ensure a more personal, intimate, and authentic experience.
Truffle is an unusual subterranean fungus. There are two important varieties of truffles: white truffle (Tuber Magnatum) and black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum). Both of these can be found in the Motovun forest located in the valley of the Mirna River. Even though truffles can be found elsewhere, Motovun truffles are considered to be of the highest quality.

We walk through the forest and search for a truffles with dogs trained for truffle hunting. Svilicic family will show you what truffle hunting is all about.

Unique experience. Fun searching for truffles and the home cooked lunch was delicious
Fun experience watching our guide work with his dogs to find truffles. The dogs found a white truffle and were so excited. Lunch on the patio in the town of Motovun was delicious. Such a unique experience.

It was a beautiful...
It was a wonderful experience to accompany Mihael and his dogs on a truffle hunt. The subsequent lunch from Mihael's mother was phenomenal and we couldn't stop raving about it!

Truffle hunt in Motovun a highlight!
Such a fantastic experience! I loved spending time with the dogs and watching them hunt for truffles — finding them in the forest was such a highlight and gave me a whole new appreciation for what goes into getting them onto the plate. The forest walk was beautiful, we learnt a lot about the history of the area, and lunch afterwards was absolutely delicious — simple, authentic home cooking that really showcased the truffles. A really memorable experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

The Best Experience in Croatia Highly Recommend Mihael’s Truffle Tour
Joining the truffle hunting tour with Mihael this morning was hands down the happiest activity of my entire Croatia trip Mihael is incredibly knowledgeable, and it’s wonderful to see his passion for helping people truly understand the truffle industry. His three dogs are absolute stars, not only are they cute, but they are also exceptionally skilled. Watching them in action was a joy for everyone in the group.
