Visiting the Marais through the perspective of a wine glass provides an entirely different view of this historic neighbourhood. Starting in the Joseph Mignaret park, we discover its hidden vineyard and the medieval history of the Marais. Once home to two kings, the quarter is dotted with the private mansions of the aristocracy who wanted to be close to the king. We cross the Roman road to the East that linked the Bastille to the Louvre, and pause a moment in a medieval alley to talk about life in the middle-ages. We then visit the largest extant section of the Philippe Auguste wall, tracing the wine history of the quarter, and exploring the area where Charles V had his royal residence and vineyard, stopping along the way to taste a sparkling wine. Like many other quarters of the city, the Marais has been home to a number of famous personalities, whose lives we also recount. We end with a blind tasting of 3 living wines, rustic fermented bread and exquisite cheeses in a wine bar.

There are two blind wine tastings with nibbles. The first is of a sparkling wine and the second, which takes place in a wine shop includes two natural, organic or biodynamic wines.

Wine your way through the Marais and discover the Marais' secret vineyard on this highly original wine walk. The hidden vineyard of the charming Joseph Mignaret garden in the heart of the Marais is a surprising discovery. The 'Marais', which means swamp, drained in the 12th century, primarily produced market vegetables, but there were vines here too. An extensive vineyard attached to the Hotel Royal Saint Pol produced wines in the Middle Ages, so the history of the vine here is as old as the quarter's history. Join us for this exceptional experience as we meander through one of Paris' oldest quarters and explore another aspect of the role the vine still plays in the urban landscape. An exclusive wine tasting (with cheeses, bread and seasonal vegetables) reflecting the flavours of the varietals planted here will complete this unique outing.

Paris Wine Walks since 2018 🍷⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our first Paris Wine Walk with Geoffrey was in 2018, with our then 9-month-old daughter. We have returned to his wine walks several times since then and all have been delightful. We even gifted a wine walk to our German friends for their anniversary, and my most recent walk with my girlfriend left us both equally impressed. The highlight of our weekend in Paris

Wow! This tour was the highlight of our weekend in Paris! We had so much fun! Geoffrey was an amazing storyteller and the winetasting was so good. We tasted delicious wines, cheeses, vegetables and bread. We couldn’t wish for anything more and are definitely coming back for another tour with Geoffrey.
