Yoshiko was a great guide. We did so much in the short time we had together. She was so nice and eager to share the history of Uji and matcha with us.

From the moment we were dressed in our beautiful kimonos, Maya and I were transported into something sacred. The gentle guidance through each ritual, the mindful preparation of the matcha, the quiet reverence of the traditional tea room - every detail created space for us to truly be present with each other. What moved me most was watching my daughter embrace this ancient tradition with such grace and curiosity. In that peaceful moment, sharing Japanese sweets and sipping our carefully prepared tea, I felt the profound connection between generations of mothers and daughters who have shared similar rituals of mindfulness and love. This experience reminded me why I'm so passionate about creating meaningful moments with my children. We enjoyed having our own personal tour guide (Keiko) to show us places we might have missed if we were on our own, especially the small shops on the quiet back roads. Good selection of food choices in Yanaka Ginza--we were stuffed at the end. We also appreciated small touches such as our guide providing a bag for our trash and hand wipes for our sticky hands. Overall, the pacing and time allotted for this tour was just right.

Our group of 6 had a wonderful tour of Uji on April 7! With excellent English, Terumi S. led the tour which focused on a wide variety of Matcha and Green Tea experiences. We especially liked Terumi putting tea-making in Japan in context by pointing out the differences as we went along. Even though it was raining we were able to do all of the activities indoors. I especially liked the tea ceremony where the women were in full kimono dress with Terumi translating the ritual. She went the extra mile to get us to our next appointment by riding the train with us and showing us the connection! Arigato for an exceptional tour!

We had a wonderful experience with Michie who spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable of the area and food. Our daughter is Coeliac and Michie made sure she was able to have gluten free safe options. Would recommend to anyone with dietary restrictions.

I really enjoyed my Flavors of Japan food tour. We toured the Nihombashi area in Tokyo in April with Ramona and Mandy. They were charming and well informed about both the area and Japanese food. They took us to speciality stores and explained about the importance of regional food, we could try some of the products. The lunch we ate was delightful! Can't remember the name of the restaurant. This tour was so enjoyable with great tour guides. Mandy and Ramona didn't make us hurry so the tour ended up being longer than it advertised.

I had an awesome time on this tour! Great opportunity to make new friends while chatting and eating so many dishes! Alex was our guide, really fun and energetic company. He had a great approach to doing the tour. He was open and generous, this tour was a fantastic first time experience coming to Tokyo and Japan.

Thank you to our gracious, friendly, and informative guide Ayaka! We wandered around Uji on foot (so beautiful) and ate a green tea themed meal (delicious) then visited a temple and shrine. We had matcha ice cream (hojicha was my favorite) and then we had an informal matcha tea ceremony. We learned a lot of new information in just three hours!

Hiroe was brilliant. Thanks to her our group of grandma, mother, and daughter we got to learn a lot about Japanese culture and Matcha. It was a wonderful day walking around the really beautiful Uji area. We ate buckwheat noodles with matcha, made matcha tea and drink it, and had roasted green tea ice cream. Beautiful area and the shrine was so amazing. Hiroe was so knowledgeable about the area and she did a great job explaining in English. An absolutely wonderful day where we got to do things with Hiroe we never would have been able to understand how to do ourselves.

I took this tour because I am a huge matcha fan! I had a really excellent experience in this wonderful tour, guided by Mana. She was so friendly and informed us so much much about Uji and was knowledgeable about the areas we visited. It was really enjoyable trying different types of matcha, matcha ice cream, and green tea noodles! 10/10 tour which I will definitely be recommending to my family and friends if they visit Japan.

We booked this when we were visiting Kyoto - Uji is really close by train. Russ was our guide, he was so friendly and knowledgable. He showed us the city and taught us about matcha and stories about Japanese history and culture. We had a wonderful time touring the city with Russ - we highly recommend this tour especially if you are a tea lover. A nice half-day trip away from the crowds of tourists in Kyoto too.
