Patricia Martinez
This tour was the first of four activities that I have booked with this outfit as part of my staycation plan during COVID.
My guide Kaori contacted me before the tour to confirm our meeting place and as well to offer answering any questions.
Upon meeting her, I felt that it was going to be a fun and easy-going day. She asked me for preferences and if I had been in the area before so to create a plan that would meet my expectations.
Kaori answered questions clearly, provided detailed information and was open to my interests.
The tour is packed with a lot of eating for the four hours. I suggest to not eat before the tour. Maybe do more street food (not all for the typical kinds) rather than two sit-down venues? All food was delicious.
We zigzagged the market while Kaori explained culture, language, sites, and history.
She was very open in providing translation to help me purchase some items. She actively and joyfully participated in helping make the best selection.
I don’t know that I will find the same locales again - maybe a cheat sheet at the end with the recommenced eateries would help - but I look forward to my next visit to the market.
I definitely recommend the tour. I also recommend to select a day outside of the weekend and avoid the crowds - unless, that’s part of your fun. We found that merchants had more time to chat with us, too. Kaori was great and I felt she was a friend-of-a-friend who took care of me! Thanks, Kaori!
