If you want a day you won’t forget - enjoy a full day tour with Pedro Madeira in the Duro Valley! He picked us up at our hotel at 9am, he stopped at a train station to show us some beautiful tile art work that showed the history of wine. Then we went on a boat ride down the river for an hour next we went to a small vineyard with amazing wines, then to another small vineyard for lunch at the owners pool - the owner is an amazing chef! Pedro led us on a number of walks from our cruise - all of which were great - fabulous sceney, lovely weather, interesting walks with lovely views. He coped admirably with a very mixed ability group. He was a really knowledgable, kind and patient guide who was happy to share his enthusiasm and passion for the Douro region, its history and culture and its port wines.
