This was a fantastic experience! Koichi and Kyoko are very kind people with a lovely home. It was very kind of them to pick us up at the train station. The tour was very informative, and we enjoyed picking tea leaves. There's something special about eating something that you picked. The food was incredibly gourmet. I recommend this experience to anyone.

Our wonderful hosts showed us how tea is processed from bush to drink and made us 2 stunning seasonal meals using tea in different forms that we had picked ourselves. A unique experience in the Japanese countryside We appreciated the warm hospitality

This was the most incredible travel experience I have ever had in my life!!! Koichi-san and Kyoko-san are so incredibly kind, and Koichi-san is the PERFECT guide! He brought us to so many interesting places, and we had so many cups of incredible tea. (We lost count after 15 hahaha). Their home is absolutely gorgeous as a beautiful traditional Japanese home but also with modern amenities like modern bathroom and AC. It was a beautiful, and we were so so comfortable. We loved every part of the experience. The best part was their outstanding homemade cooking. I will be having dreams about how good it was!! So artfully plated - incredible aesthetic but also so delicious and unique. Out of everything we did in our 2 week vacation around Japan, this stood out the most, and we are telling all our friends about this experience. Highly, highly recommend!! It doesn't get better than this!!

Koichi and Kyoko are wonderful hosts. Picking, rolling, and roasting our own sencha (green tea) was an absolute highlight of our trip to Japan . Koichi is a wonderful and accommodating tour guide. And Kyoko’s food is out of this world! If you like tea, do this! We’d also recommend going to the tea museum near Kakegawa on your way home.

We had a lovely time learning about the area and Tea. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and had amazing flavors. I really enjoyed learning how to pick and dry the tea leaves. I would recommend this experience.

The entire team at Udon House made our family trip into the world of Udon an absolute delight! The experience was informative and engaging and our visit to other Udon restaurants was great. Our stay at Udon House capsule dormitory accommodations completed our experience!

Thoroughly enjoyed spending a day and a half at the Udon Masterclass. We were a small group of 4 students and learned hands on all there is to know about making the perfect Udon dish. The accommodation was comfortable. I would have given 5 stars, but I feel that the experience should have included some sort of printed notes and recipes of the dishes we made. Otherwise a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work!

This was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. It was great having a guide that was bilingual as she helped translate for us, letting us talk to so many people that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. We fully intend on coming back to Udon House the next time we come to Japan!

The hosts were extremely friendly, informative, and very patient with teaching us how to make udon. The location was comfortable and quiet for the overnight stay and really close to the train station. The whole family had a memorable experience and we learned many new things about udon, its ingredients, and many other foods, as well.

Loved this so much, it was a wonderful and interactive experience making udon, and it was run by the loveliest staff. The class was informative and we learnt alot, we now appreciate and understand the origin of udon and ate aware of the different types. This has been a bucketlist experience for myself as an udon lover but also for my husband who has a newfound appreciation for udon (he wasnt a fan prior). Now we are both newly cold udon lovers. The accomodation is also really clean and comfortable, the kitchen was great to cook our udon at night, and the heated table in the living room was perfect for the chilly night. Highly recommend this experience to everyone.

We booked a private lesson and stay which was a lot of fun. Definitely a bit of an adventure off the beaten path. Unfortunately, we had to leave early the next morning so we missed the tour. However, making noodles was a blast and eating them was fantastic!! Our instructors were very friendly and encouraging. Plus, I ate four bowls of udon in one day. Do note that the sleeping accommodations are limited. I felt very comfortable in a lower bunk, but my brother who is taller, had to fold himself into the space a bit. Also, there isn’t really much else to do in the immediate area (especially when it’s raining as it did for us), so be sure to be ready to entertain yourself in the evening :)

Perfect way to discover noodle making with Sempai Yna San and sensei Masumi San ! They took the time to explain in details the origin and the way of the udon, not to mention to show us around the former Sanuki prefecture and its many restaurant and local gems ! I would absolutely recommend to book the stay, as the house is big and the accomodations are awesome. Thanks again Yna San, Chié San, Masumi San and Motoko San, :) !
