A great session with Takako, learning about Japanese home cooking and the benefits for fermented foods. Tasted koji, kombu, mirin and a variety of soy sauces. Takako then made some healthy and delicious dishes, which was a good change from some heavier restaurant meals. The recipes were also provided! Would definitely recommend.

Kyoko was so brilliant. She knew so much about everything (not just the fish market!) i loved to see and learn about the market.

I wanted to give a review of our tour with Jaye Jaye. She was an amazing guide! She was very friendly, knew what she was explaining and much more. We would definitely book again especially if Jaye Jaye could be our guide. She was the best!

We enjoyed our Fukuoka food tour. Our guide Jaye Jaye was terrific. Very friendly and we enjoyed talking with her and learning about her experiences living in Japan. The food stops were great and good value for what we paid. Would have liked more education/info on the location as we were walking. Although to be fair, it was raining, so communication was not ideal. There was miscommunication from the tour company, as we received an email the day before giving us the wrong tour date and time. No response on my email to confirm the day/time. Meeting location description could have been clearer, as Kego is a large park. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour and guide Jaye Jaye.

We booked our Hakata Market tour after watching Shizuka Anderson participate in a similar tour with Mason on YouTube and we’re so happy we did. As mentioned in other reviews, Jaye, our guide on this experience, was AMAZING. We’ve been on a few Byfood experiences already and all of them have created memories that will last a lifetime. We’re novice “foodies” so the fish market, udon restaurant, and cafe were local places that we wouldn’t have known to seek out if not for the tour and a perfect introduction to Fukuoka food culture. Our minds were educated and our bellies filled. “A” for the experience and having a great guide in Jaye made it an “A+”. Highly recommend!

After learning about the experience on YouTube we decided to get the local perspective on Fukuoka. Our host Jaye Jaye was more than we could have hoped for. Starting at the temple, which also happened at the same time as a wedding, we learned some facts about the temple and architecture features. We then walked to the fish markets and sampled some sashimi and other local produce with the guidance of our host. Then on to the Udon restaurant which is literally around the corner we had warm and comfy udon. Our last stop at a bunch of local bars for warm Sake. We bonded pretty quickly with our host and the conversation was non stop. We had a blast. Would recommend this tour and especially JJ.

The best part of the tour was the guide, Jaye Jaye. It was so refreshing to hang out with a fellow foodie. And it wouldn’t have been as enjoyable if she didn’t speak both English and Nihongo (Japanese). She was a very fun tour guide!

The food choices were really good, they are quality food and different options to choose and try. Also the guide made me feel comfortable when choosing the food we had as choice, and enjoy to try different experiences like the combini shop, the market and Izakaya.

It was enjoyable tour over all especially the cafe was great! Very polite and helpful owner, food and coffee were amazing, vibe is really good and aesthetic, I think it's perfect for photo shooting too.

I enjoyed the food and the experience overall. I had the opportunity of trying new food and interact with locals. Especially, the cafe at the end was amazing with the great coffee and delicious dessert. The atmosphere was very nice too.
