Zona Velha

History tells us that the first settlement in the city of Funchal emerged in the area that is currently known as 'Zona Velha' (Downtown). The great heritage and architectural value of this part of the city makes it a must-see that deserves to be experienced both by day and by night. Funchal Downtown is known for its narrow cobbled streets, embellished by the typical façades of old houses. With the 'Portas Pintadas' (Painted Doors) project, this urban scenario has become even more attractive. Excellent choice of venues - combining a good variety of drinks and culture

Excellent choice of venues, which combined the new craft beer scene, with a visit to a traditional pharmacy, which served local white wine; Madeira Wine in the old town; and finishing with a Poncha workshop. Very excited to see the new venue of the Beer Lab. Matt was an excellent guide with lots of good information on wine and Madeira itself!

What workshop?

The tour guide was very helpful, friendly and open. However, according to the title and description of the activity, we really expected a workshop where we could make a poncha ourselves. However, this was not the case. The activity was a bar tour where the drinks listed in the description were tasted. Wie had booked the tour mainly because of the workshop and were then disappointed as this part did not happen. For the bar tour alone, I find the price-performance ratio unjustified and the title a...daha fazla oku
