Monastery of Agios Gerasimos

Our first stop of the day is at the Monastery of St Gerasimos, Kefalonia’s patron saint where we will stay for approximately 20 minutes. Saint’s body is housed in a silver and glass casket in the smaller of the two churches, which was built over a cave where the saint once lived as a hermit.

Orealios Gaea - Vine Growers of Robola

Once everyone is on board the coach, we will make our way from the outskirts of Argostoli and a 25 minute drive will take us to the Omala Valley area. Our first stop of the day is at the Monastery of St Gerasimos, Kefalonia’s patron saint where we will stay for approximately 20 minutes. Saint’s body is housed in a silver and glass casket in the smaller of the two churches, which was built over a cave where the saint once lived as a hermit. We will then continue with a spot of traditional wine tasting at the Robola Winery located next to the monastery. A 30 minute visit includes a guided tour through the factory where we will see the wine making process and also have the opportunity to taste and purchase the products.

Fascinating Tour of Kefalonian Treasures

We had a wonderful day touring some of the beautiful sights of Northern Kefalonia: the nunnery where the patron St Gerasimus’ remains are, a Robillo vineyard to taste four delicious wines, the Drogerati caves, Melissani underground lake and a stunning viewpoint of the famous Myrtos beach. Well rounded tour

Excellent well rounded tour. Booked last minute due to changes in the weather but still kept us well informed about pick up. Safe coach driver. Very informative tour guide in Melanie. Was still lovely even though it was raining. Beautiful cave lake.

"A Very Nice Day Out"

An excellent private group tour learning about the island. Our driver/guide Chris was a font of knowledge. We appreciated how he flexed the itinerary to fit in our own requests (ice cream!) and also tlso we avoided long queues at the Lake. Fascinating insights into so many aspects - culture, religion, geology, the impact of the 1953 earthquake, food & drink, modern and ancient history and a little mythology for good measure. Enjoyable, informative and friendly tour.

Had a lovely day exploring the sites of Kefalonia, including the drogarati cave, melissani lake, the monastery, wine tasting at Rombola winery and Myrtos beach from above. Melanie the tour guide and Regina the bus driver were an excellent team! They had such a good rapport with each other and this made our experience so much more enjoyable. Melanie had a vast knowledge of the island. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Would definitely recommend. Thank you both!
