What makes this experience special is the journey from market to table. You’ll explore a real local market with Portuguese chefs, select fresh seasonal ingredients and then use them to cook a traditional Portuguese meal. Whenever available, we also use produce from our family farm in Mafra, creating a genuine connection between local food, Portuguese traditions and the meal you prepare together.

This experience includes: Visit to the local market & Cooking class where we will prepare: Starter, Main Course and Dessert.

Experience Portugal through its markets, ingredients and traditional food culture. Begin your experience at the local Mercado de Algés with our Portuguese chefs, exploring fresh fish, seafood, seasonal produce and other ingredients used in everyday Portuguese cuisine. Along the way, discover how locals choose ingredients and learn more about Portuguese food traditions. Then head to our kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, where you’ll prepare a traditional three-course Portuguese meal together, including a starter, main course and dessert. Everyone takes part in the cooking, with our chefs guiding you step by step. We use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients and, whenever available, vegetables from our family farm in Mafra, creating a genuine connection between the market, the farm and the food on your table. After cooking, sit down together and enjoy the meal you have prepared in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This is more than a cooking class: it’s a chance to experience Portuguese food from the market to the table.

Amazing unforgettable experience

This class was so warm and personal and just magical. The two ladies who are your guides are absolutely wonderful. We hope they never stop doing what they do! Food is superb while they let you cook with guidance and care. The food was exceptional and worth every penny. Will most definitely book the pasta del nata class on return to Portugal. If you’re in limbo, book this experience, it’s a memory made.

Recommended for anyone who wants a pleasant experience and to learn more about Portuguese food and learn how to cook it. Ana and Carina are very nice and knowledgeable.

Fabulous hands on cooking (and eating) experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Ana and Carina. The market tour was fun, the facilities wonderful and the instruction and hands-on cooking (and eating) was fabulous! We made fish cataplana, shrimp appetizer and merengue desert. Everything was delicious and we have already recreated the fish cataplana at home. Also appreciate the recipes. Obrigada!

Food and fun!

What a great time! My sisters and I booked a class with Carina and Anna during our first trip to Lisbon. The chefs were fantastic. The food was so yummy! Would definitely recommend!

Fun time and good food!

We had great time cooking with Ana and Carina! We made some fantastic Fish Cataplana and also other foods but I loved the cataplana - it was so easy, tasty and great food!
