Enjoy the untouched landscapes and winding valleys of Umbria, as you learn how to cook traditional farmhouse recipes. The Locanda is a typical country house made of stone located only a few kilometers from the magical city of Orvieto, along the panoramic road to Lake Bolsena. Learning some cooking skills from a local chef is a great opportunity to discover the real heart of Italy, and to take it with you. At the farmhouse you will be a chef for the day and learn from an experienced cook who will teach you the secrets of Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine, which comprises of simple and tasty dishes. The products used for the recipes come from the vegetable garden or nearby farms. You can prepare your own full menu from appetizer to dessert or you can choose from pre-selected courses, including homemade pasta, pizza and bread. The products used are among the best available in the area. These recipes will surely impress your family and friends when you host a real Italian dinner party once you are back home. Authentic cooking...

Authentic cooking experience with Italian experts. Hosts are welcoming, friendly and engaging. Chef Paulo is entertaining, knowledgeable and shows all the steps on how to properly prepare the dishes. Even though Chef Paulo speaks Italian and we didn’t, he was easy to follow through demonstrations. Highly recommend!

Don’t miss this one!

This cooking class was the highlight of our Italy trip. I have taken many cooking classes in the US and Europe but, by far, this class will be the most memorable. We met Alessandra at the reception desk of the hotel and she informed us that she would be our translator. We then met the chef, Paolo, an adorable older man who was very patient with us and a great teacher. His optimism and happy demeanor was very contagious. Best meal we had all vacation

Less than appetizing

I have never participated in a cooking class so I was very much looking forward to the event. However, the quality of the recipe chosen (chicken Cacciatore) for us to make was disappointing considering the fee my husband and I paid for the class. The class advertisement also mentioned wine tasting which, in my mind, means small tastings of a variety. This was not the case.
