Pasteis de Nata Experience is a moment of relax for all participants. Your group will learn how to make the Pastéis de Nata, the most famous Portuguese sweet plus other recipes.

Please follow the chef’s safety instructions throughout the experience. Aprons are provided for all participants. Hot baking trays and pastry moulds are handled exclusively by our chefs. Please do not touch ovens, hot equipment or hot surfaces, and use knives only as demonstrated by the chef. Wash your hands before handling food, tie back long hair and keep work surfaces clean. Please wear closed shoes, keep walkways clear and report any spills immediately to help prevent slips, falls and burns. Allergen information: this experience involves eggs, milk and wheat (gluten). Pastéis de Nata born in the 18th century at Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon. At the time, monasteries and convents used huge quantities of egg-whites for starching of clothes, such as nun´s habits. The egg yolks were used to make pastries and cakes, resulting in the proliferation of the Portuguese sweet recipes. Portuguese Tarts are Achievable

Fantastic cooking experience. These delicious little tarts are totally achievable when you learn the “tricks”. Renata was an excellent teacher.

We had a great time with Samara in our Pasteis de Nata class. She was an amazing instructor and we enjoyed learning, hands on, how to make this fantastic Portuguese dish. Thanks so much for a great morning!

Great hands-on experience

The lady who taught us how to make Pasteis de Nata was very friendly, encouraging, and efficient. Her cooking class was well-planned. Her instructions were clear. Our family of three and another family of three were there. Each of us got to work on the pastry and custard alternatively. We learned a little bit history of the famed Pasteis de Nata and had fun making it. The freshly baked Pasteis de Nata from this class was the best our family has ever had. Yum and fun - a treasured experience to take home with you!

We had a wonderful time learning to make the classic Pasteis de Nata at Cooking Lisbon. Their recipe is very much like the "secret" recipe we tasted at Belem. Our instructor was fun and helpful. The pastries were delicious and we had more than enough to eat there and take back to the hotel with us. I am looking forward to making the recipe at home soon.

Delightful and delicious!

We have long loved pasteis de nata and were thrilled to have an opportunity to learn to make them. Filippa was a welcoming and personable teacher. She gave us very clear instructions and support. The end result was an overflowing plate of tasty treats. She sent home with us as many as we could take.
