My brother and I were able to experience our first traditional Japanese tea ceremony with Rika-san during our first ever trip to Japan on April 5 during the full bloom of the Sakura on a sunny day. The location is a beautiful tea house located in Kouyama Garden, a small little green and peaceful oasis. It was breathtaking and provided a special backdrop to the tea ceremony. Rika-san was a very gracious host. Since we were the two only attendees, it was also very special to be able to share thi...閱讀更多

It was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! Rika is an adorable and kind hostess. She performed an intimate (only six guests) tea ceremony with graciousness and precision, explaining the traditional etiquette. The kimonos were splendid, and Rika provided a complete set of obi's (kimono belt) accessories for traditionally dressing my wife and daughter. And it all took place in a chaya (tea house) amidst a beautiful garden. We will keep very special memories of Rika's tea ceremony. Definitel...閱讀更多

This was my very first tea ceremony and I really enjoyed it! I booked the kimono option and it was wonderful to take part in the experience dressed in traditional attire. The venue is so peaceful, I felt like I was in Kyoto. The matcha was delicious and the seasonal sweets were almost too beautiful to eat. Thank you so much, Rika-san, for your kind hospitality!

2 hours went by so fast. We enjoyed wearing the kimono and learning how to whisk matcha. The garden and tea ceremony room were very beautiful. We were in Tokyo but it felt like we were transported to Kyoto. The experience seemed expensive at first, but between the cost of the kimono (which would be a few thousand yen for renting alone) to the 2-hour time in the tea ceremony room, it was definitely worth it!

We had a wonderful experience with Rika learning about the tea ceremony, enjoying tea and sweets and wearing beautiful Kimono. The garden is a perfect environment for the ceremony. Arigato Rika.
