We can absolutely recommend this experience, not only because of the Wagyu Beef tasting, but especially the tour aftward, since Hiroshi is very knowlegable about Kyoto and Japan in general. Thank you for the great experience Hiroshi!

Have you been eating ramen all of your life and not have a clue how it’s made? If so, I highly recommend signing up and learning all about ramen. The class was both fascinating and informative. Our guide (and store manager) Mitsuyo, gave us a great behind-the-scenes presentation of how they make their Michelin awarded ramen (without giving away any trade secrets, of course). I would have never imagined how much thought and creativity went into what seems like a humble bowl of noodles. They are obsessed with making the best bowl of ramen on planet Earth.

This experience was amazing! Mitsuyo was an excellent teacher, leading us through how really great ramen is made. We sampled all the key components individually, before enjoying the final product brought to life by their chefs. Simply the best ramen I have ever tasted! If you are a foodie or you just love ramen, you will enjoy this tour!

chihiro and her friend were excellent hosts. They were cheerful, kind and patient, possessing extensive knowledge about ceremonial tea practices while also communicating impressively in english.

The Ramen Tasting experience was absolutely amazing. Our hostess Mitsuyo was lovely. She explained the process for making the ramen; we were able to taste the individual components along the way. Then we moved to the counter to be served a bowl of the signature ramen. Best ramen ever! This experience was fantastic and a must do for any ramen lover.

We had a wonderful time at this tea ceremony, led by Hiromi Fujiwara together with Eclat, and two of her lovely colleagues. From the moment we arrived it felt personal rather than touristy. Before the ceremony, they gave us a tour of the house and shared its history, including old photos of the family who owned it and the story of their brewing heritage. It gave real context to everything that followed. The ceremony itself was beautifully done. We went through each stage: waiting, purifying ourselves much like at a Buddhist temple, and then the ceremony. We were served sake beforehand, and sweets both before and during. Hiromi and her team explained every step clearly and guided us so we could take part rather than just watch, which made it much more meaningful. Afterwards we could choose an additional activity. We all picked calligraphy, and it was a lot of fun. Throughout, there was time to chat and get to know our hosts, who were kind and welcoming. As a final touch, they gave us our calligraphy to take home, along with matcha powder in a lovely box. A thoughtful, hands-on introduction to Japanese tea culture. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience and a really unique way to learn about ramen! It was fascinating to taste the individual components that go into the ramen and then combine them ourselves to see how the flavors evolved as we built the dish. We learned a lot about the thought and craftsmanship that goes into each element. The bowl of shoyu ramen prepared by the kitchen at the end was terrific and a perfect way to finish the experience. The English was also very solid, which made the experience easy to follow and enjoy. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to understand and appreciate ramen on a deeper level!
