Fantastic experience and great guide!

An amazing and immersive experience! The 5th-generation owner took us through the historic factory to show us the traditional, time-honored methods of making katsuobushi and shio katsuo. As we did not speak Japanese, we communicated this ahead of time and he kindly arranged an English translator so we didn't miss any of the fascinating details. The bonito flakes tasting over rice was a delicious highlight, and getting a souvenir to take home was a lovely touch. It’s incredible to see a historic craft kept alive here.

It was such a wonderful evening! Really, really recommend doing a tour with Hiroshi. He is so welcoming and knowledgeable. The walk around Gion was so interesting! He opened my eyes to so many details. The food was lovely and he kept it gluten free on request, which I appreciate so much! I would not have known what to order without his help. Thank you Hiroshi, I hope to be able to join another of your tours in the future.

AMAZING experience! Highly recommend to anyone interested in wasabi (or a fun getaway from Tokyo). David is knowledgeable about a multitude of topics and his generosity was greatly appreciated. Both varieties of wasabi are insanely delicious (and he let us eat a lot of it!).

Hiroshi was amazing! Super friendly and informative. The places we went for ramen were so perfect. In fact we have already gone back. Totally recommend this tour.

Bruce is delightful and a font of knowledge! The food was delicious and plentiful, and it was a fun and entertaining evening. The only reason I have dropped a star is the cost. I think it is a pricy food tour, having done many in various cities around the world. This shouldn’t discourage you from experiencing Bruce’s experience and conversation, and the delicious tatami food, if you are happy paying this price.

Had a great time with Hiro, great food and sake and a really pretty tour of Gion at night. Hiro gave us some brilliant insight into some of the culture and explained various things about the buildings and shrines. Thank you!

Akito was an amazingly gracious and knowledgeable host. We had such a great time at the tea farm and factory and learning everything about tea. If you are ever visiting Shizuoka, this is a must try experience. This has been my favorite part of our trip to Japan! Thanks Akito!
