You have to think about this as more of an experience than a meal if you are not used to the cuisine. As an experience this was AMAZING. As a meal, there were definitely aspects that were not as enjoyable. Namely, the fast pace and the taste of some of the dishes. If you are not an adventurous eater or do not enjoy Japanese cuisine this might not be for you. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience for us given the scenery, the traditional style of eating, and the chance to try dishes we normally would not have.

Great Food, lovely Service, beautiful Location.

This was a wonderful experience! You have to walk a little bit to get to it but it's worth it. They provide great service and a wide variety of tasty (and unique to us) bites. You get to dine on the peaceful river. We were very glad we did this experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Hakone area

We had the most amazing experience here! Impeccable food, service and ambiance, just wow! The meat was so tender you barely need to chew. Food presentation was also top notch.

Friendly service, excellent food, beautiful riverside setting. We arrived after an afternoon walking in the rain around Hakone. The heated seats were a blessing! This meal exceeded our expectations.

Family of three. Had dinner seated outdoors so not much of a view at night although the river sounds were soothing. Enjoyed the hotpot menu from awa shoyu, appetiser to the dessert. I must add that the warishita broth of yam and egg just didn’t work with the beef as it imparted a gooey texture. We requested for the beef and vegetables from the hotpot to be placed on a separate plate, and that saved the rest of the meal. Would recommend this place for date night.

Our experience was fantastic. Beautiful location on the river and the service was incredibly attentive. The food was super delicious. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Hakone.

The staff worked hard to make us feel welcome, and made sure that we understood what they were serving us. The service was incredible and the food - absolutely divine! We had a wonderful lunch here. Definitely recommend for a more upscale meal by the river in Hakone ☺️
