Pick-up at yout hotel!!! This is an authentic experience where we will learn about the food and traditions of Peru by visiting local markets and non-turisty areas along with our expert guide and transport. We'll head to Surquillo Market 1, where we'll enjoy a tasting of native and exotic fruits. We'll learn about their origins and the properties of our typical fruits, as well as enjoy their unique flavors. Next, we'll take the Metropolitano bus to downtown Lima, where we'll visit the central market and Chinatown. We'll try typical Chinese-Peruvian snacks and street food, such as Picarones (doughnuts made with potato and fig jam) and the famous anticuchos (skewered beef heart). To finish, we go to Alameda Chabuca, near the Plaza Mayor of Lima, where we will try the famous street dessert called Arroz con Leche and Mazamorra Morada.

Most memorable first day in Lima!

We booked the Exploring Markets and Street Food in Lima, expecting to be in a small group up to 15 passengers. We were pleasantly surprised when Juan arrived to pick us up at our hotel and informed us we were having a private tour today. Experience of a lifetime.

The tour was interesting, eye-opening, informative. A tour that everyone should take when visiting Lima to fully understand the people of Lima and the challenges many of them face. While foodie tours and market tours were also enjoyed by us, this one was the most memorable and impactful. Alfredo was the perfect tour guide and advocate.

Great tour of the market with Lucas!

My grown son and I visited the local fruit and veggie market, as we were curious about Peruvian food. There were so many unique fruits that we had never seen in the US.
