To get straight to the point, Yuki is a fantastic cooking instructor (also a lovely person) and I would highly recommend her cooking classes to anyone interested in learning to make Japanese cuisine at home!
In the ramen/gyoza class we took, Yuki walked us through the elements of the dishes we made and also highlighted what to do for different regional variations. Any questions I had (sometimes before I could ask it) she was able to answer! e.g. the purpose of different ingredients, their alternatives if you can't easily find them outside Japan, how to cook for friends with dietary requirements, etc etc.
Quick note: I recommend that you bring your appetite because 1) not only is the food you make so delicious; but 2) there's a lot of it!
By the end of the class, my partner and I felt very confident we could easily apply what we had learnt back home and cook for (and impress) ourselves, family and friends.

The cooking class was a great experience! Kaori was a great host. She picked us up at the train station and showed us around in a grocery store to see all the ingredients. Then we drove to her house, a great extra addition and atmosphere to be cooking at someone’s home in Japan. The food was truly delicious ; one of the best ramen I ever had! Great addition to your travel itinerary if you’re into food.

We had such an amazing cooking class. The food was superb, Kaori the instructor has wonderful English and was very easy to follow. She started by picking us up at the train station, then going to a nearby grocery store so we knew what ingredients we would be working with. After some lovely iced green tea we started on lunch. She made what we thought were complicated dishes feel easy. She gave us helpful tips on the Japanese language, important phrases to know, and names of some great restaurants. The cooking was fun, very informational, and the food was amazing! Her goal was to make us feel comfortable and confident that we could cook this meal at home. We left full, happy, and motivated to make this dishes part of our regular cooking.

What an amazing experience. Kaori our host was so gracious and friendly and her English was great. She took the time to take us on a tour around the supermarket to teach us the ingredients before we went back to her place. Not only did she demonstrate but we also got to join in. She had easy to read printed cards and recipes. The food was amazing. So simple that we can replicate it at home but so tasty and delicious. Book straight in to do her class, you will be glad you did. One of the best experiences on our trip around Japan.

Junko picked us up at the train station and on the way to her home she told us a lot of stuff about Tokyo and japanese culture. We could talk openly and ask all the question we wanted. She showed us a sweets shop in her neighborhood, where everything is hand made, and she took us to a huge Donki to show us typical japanese cooking ingredients and foods.
During class we had a great time chatting like old friends. She showed us how to cook a simple miso soup from scratch and make japanese noodles from scratch as well. We also prepared a mandarine mochi using rice flour. Everything was delicious and she even took more food out to feed us while we ate the ramen. She offered plenty of beverages as well.
We honestly had a great time chatting and cooking with Junko. She is a lovely, welcoming, heart warming, charming person. It was a great way to connect with someone local and not only learn cooking methods, but also exchanging cultures.
I would 100% recommend Junko's class to anyone that is looking for a cozy, home-style cooking lesson.

This was one of our favorite experiences in Japan! Kaori was a great instructor and it was so fun to talk to her and learn. The food was amazing and we’re excited to get home and make it ourselves! It started at the supermarket and she pointed out all of the ingredients which was very helpful to see what to look for when shopping. Learning how to make sauces and dessert was unexpected, but added to the great experience! Highly recommend this class :)
