One of the Highlights of Our Trip to Japan! My wife and I took the Harajuku Sweets and Street Food Tour with Shizuka Anderson back in May, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We had such an amazing time with Shizuka. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to be around, and by the end of the tour it honestly felt like we were exploring Harajuku with a friend. One of the things we really enjoyed was getting to talk with Shizuka about DAN DA DAN and our love of the show. We even had fun getting toys from the gacha vending machines, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was fantastic, but what made the tour special was getting to experience places and foods that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. One of our favorite experiences was making okonomiyaki at a local hidden-gem restaurant. It was such a fun experience, and getting to make it ourselves while enjoying the atmosphere made it something we'll remember. Shizuka did an amazing job bringing everything together- great food, Japanese culture, local experiences, and plenty of laughs along the way. She was also incredibly easy to talk to and made the entire tour feel relaxed and personal. We still talk about this experience when remembering our trip to Japan. If you're visiting Tokyo and want to experience Harajuku in a way that goes beyond the typical tourist attractions, I highly recommend booking this tour with Shizuka. Thank you, Shizuka

The ramen tour was amazing and Hiroshi was a great host!

The Ramen Tasting experience was absolutely amazing. Our hostess Mitsuyo was lovely. She explained the process for making the ramen; we were able to taste the individual components along the way. Then we moved to the counter to be served a bowl of the signature ramen. Best ramen ever! This experience was fantastic and a must do for any ramen lover.

Shizuka Anderson's Harajuku Sweets and Street Food Tour was Fabulous! First, I want to say that since I had a knee problem, Shizuka was very helpful, caring, and accommodating - Shizuka was very patient and gave much-appreciated advice to ease my walking during the food tour. As for the tasty gems our tour group had at several shops along the way, the street food was delicious, including both the sweet and savory items, most notably the fried chicken on a stick and the small pancakes with ice cream. The restaurant that was our final stop had terrific Japanese food and drinks. I love how Shizuka not only prepared and explained the several very delicious dishes at our table but allowed me and the other food tour members to prepare the various foods. Shizuka is a terrific teacher - as well as very personable and a lot of fun - who made the restaurant experience like a very lively cooking class! It was a very pleasant surprise! I can't believe how the time flew by so quickly for the entire tour! In closing, I Most Highly recommend Shizuka Anderson's Harajuku Sweets and Street Food Tour! The food tour price is well worth it! If I'm ever in Tokyo again, I would love to take Shizuka's food tour for a second time - or any other food tour Shizuka may have! I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the Tour ....10 + stars!! And 10 + stars for Shizuka being such a lovely, very fun host!! 🙂

Fantastic experience and a really unique way to learn about ramen! It was fascinating to taste the individual components that go into the ramen and then combine them ourselves to see how the flavors evolved as we built the dish. We learned a lot about the thought and craftsmanship that goes into each element. The bowl of shoyu ramen prepared by the kitchen at the end was terrific and a perfect way to finish the experience. The English was also very solid, which made the experience easy to follow and enjoy. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to understand and appreciate ramen on a deeper level!

Awesome experience that we would recommand to anyone. The people there were so friendly, especially the owner. She took very good care of us and we loved talking to her. She was very patient and kind to teach us everything about ramen. So thank you so so much

The tour was great! Kevin was the perfect guide. He took us to all sorts of hidden gems and we tried great food that we would not have tried otherwise. He genuinely was interested in making sure we had a great experience and clearly takes a lot of pride in living in Osaka

Shizuka was so sweet and friendly. Me and our kids was having so much fun and definitely went home with full belly. Very recommended tour! Hopefully Byfood and Shizuka will have another tour in the future (and hopefully we will have chance to join it again!).. Arigatou 🙏

We just finished our tour with Shizuka yesterday! It was such a fun and amazing experience! It was like meeting a celebrity because we are such huge fans of her show and she was just as nice as she is on her show! We learned so much on the tour and the places that we would have never tried or never noticed on our own! This is a must try if you come to the Harajuku area! We had a blast and definitely recommend this tour! There was quite a bit of food places we stopped at so just make sure you don’t eat anything before hand and go on an empty stomach!

The tour was amazing, delicious amazing food and drinks. Aki, the tour guida was the best. Give us a lot of nice information and very fun and friendly. I really enjoy and recommend the experience if you are in group or by solo traveling.

Great time had at Osaka food tour. Decent, local food stops navigated by a knowledgeable guide who was equally engaging with the two kids, their mum and dad and us two random Scots who made up our group. Everyone enjoyed, and i’d recommend for sure.
