This was one of the best meals I had in Japan (and possibly ever). We chose the sake pairing and it was well worth the extra cost. Every course was perfectly prepared and more delicious than the last. The chefs were immensely talented and a joy to get to know. The polaroid picture, painted fan and allowing us to paint our plates were icing on top of the cake. While it may be pricey, it's worth every penny. Definitely try and book in advance since there are only 8 seats.

We were seated right at the teppanyaki counter, directly in front of the grill. The room holds only a handful of seats, which makes the whole evening feel private and unhurried. The chef is warm and easy to talk to, the ingredients are clearly high quality, and every dish was delicious. A memorable evening from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Chef Makoto gave us a truly memorable evening at Teppanyaki Mitaki Akasaka. We came through a byFood reservation, and from the first course to the last, the quality of his ingredients and the skill in how he handled them made for a meal that was both delicious and remarkably well balanced. This sushi place is amazing! Some of the course are very authentic & never tasted it anywhere else. Would definitely come back.

An unassuming entrance that is genuinely hard to find, but a warm welcome the moment you step inside. Chef Makoto's technique and timing were remarkable throughout. The sesame tofu converted me on a dish I usually skip, and the Daisen chicken soup was outstanding, with real depth and a lovely thyme aroma. The tasting menu flowed beautifully from course to course, and the chef walked us through each local ingredient before it hit the plate. Good soft drink options too. The staff were so accommodating and kind, using google translate to pass on their knowledge and interact with us. A traditional dining experience that I will never forget.

Very nice dinner experience. If you would like to try a japanese Micheline star restaurant in Gion, Kyoto. All ingredients are fresh and excellent service.
