Aki knows Ueno, and it shows. It was a mix of new food experiences and great cultural learning. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to eat like a local and learn more about japan in general.

Wonderful experience with Aki learning more about Japanese food and drink culture, with tons of delicious food in establishments that truly felt local. We were also super grateful for him working around a gluten sensitivity and saw that he was attentive to various food preferences amongst our group. Aki is a fantastic tour guide and we had a great time on the tour. He took us to several local spots that we would not have otherwise known about, and each spot had delicious food and drinks. Aki took us to a part of Tokyo I would not have seen otherwise, down narrow streets packed with restaurants and bars, some of them under the train tracks. Delicious sake, sashimi, grilled meat, ramen and a friendly and personable host. Seeing a tiny bar with friendly customers was a highlight. Come very hungry!
