Travel back in time and visit one of the most preserved Thracian tombs on the territory of Bulgaria. While admiring the stunning paintings on the ceilings, you will learn about the history of Thracian people and the traditions behind their ritual ceremonies. Following such an enchanting meeting with the ancient times, you will head towards the city of Haskovo, where you will get the chance to see the tallest statue of Virgin Mary and Christ in the world. Arapovo Monastery

On our back to Plovdiv, we stop by the beautiful Arapovo monastery – a repository for the notorious wonder-working icon of the Virgin Mary. The history of the monastery is unique since it is the only sanctuary constructed during the Ottoman times with no traces of previous existence. Another exciting aspect of the monastery is the incredible wall paintings which break away from the canon of the church and depict the lives of saints and preachers in a completely different way.

Winery "Zagreus"

In the end, take your time and relax under the majestic atmosphere of one of the few truly Bulgarian wine cellars. The wine production coming from there forms the identity of the winery which focuses entirely on the Bulgarian grape called Mavrud. The Thracian valley is the only region in the country where Mavrud wine has flourished abundantly and its qualities – developed to its best. Enjoy this food for the soul and the calmness of the afternoon setting sun.
