Let today be the start of something new. With your expert guide start a journey beyond the temples to the Kampong Phluk Floating village, a country market, and you’ll see the lifestyle of the locals. Then, take a short boat cruise through the fishing village and flooded trees to the Tonle Sap Lake. We wander through the Village, a Primary School, Buddhist Pagoda, and see the everyday life of the villagers. The Tour guide will share with you the area’s knowledge, culture, and history of Cambodia. Next up, enjoy your Lunch hosted by a local family—three dishes of typical Khmer Foods for you. This Tour has been created to connect travelers with local hosts & families through daily life and authentic dining experiences in Cambodia. Our concept is to provide additional income to Khmer women & families and connect them to the tourism industry. You can select the menu for your lunch 1 starter, 2 main courses, and a seasoning fruit in advance. After lunch head back to the hotel(20 mins drive).

You will also stop to visit a local market situated on the Bank of Rolous river. Rolous market is one of the important markets where the local villagers go there in the morning and late afternoon to purchase fresh vegetables, meats, fruit, freshwater fish as well as household items. It’s the oldest Khmer market in that area and a must-visit for those looking to experience the local lifestyle

Kampong Phluk

Kampong Phluk is a great destination for tourists to visit the flooded Mangrove trees forests, and floating villages. Visit the beautiful Tonle Sap, the lake is the 2nd largest freshwater lake in the world. This lake is the lifeblood of the country and the primary source of fish and protein for most of the Cambodian population. Visit the flooded forest and floating villages. You will see a floating fishing village that moves as water levels rise and recede during the year. Your local guide will explain to you the daily lifestyles and works of a local who lives on land and on water. Along the way, you will stop at some places to explore local villages on foot and meet and talk to local people.

Kampong Phluk Floating Village

The community largely depends on fishing for survival, primarily shrimp, spending Cambodia's wet season fishing. Many houses and buildings are constructed on stilts ranging from 6 m to 9 m to accommodate the changes in water level between the wet and dry seasons. During the dry season (November-April) as the river thins due to receding water, many turn to farming to supplement their income. Tourism, which started in the village approximately 10 years ago, is also a growing part of the local economy.

This small village is located near Prey Moti Temple. We will have Lunch with a local family join the local guide. The tour guide will share with you the Cambodian Foods and the culture of this area. You may want to explore the vegetable gardens and Rice Fields nearby before or after lunch. You may want to taste some of the local beer or juice. The meal is 1 Starter, 2 Main courses and 1 seasoning fruit. The Tour Guide will ask you to select menu at 8.00 am when your start the Tour.
